Server Space
Server space is measured in rack units or U representing the standard spacing of rack mountable servers. One rack unit is equal to 1.75 inches. We can also accommodate non rack mountable equipment such as towers and other non-standard server cases.

Bandwidth
At Rackster all of our server colocation offers come with a 10 Mbps shared internet connection, and all bandwith options have no limitation on the amount of traffic you can use per month. If you have other bandwidth requirements we can provide shared, dedicated and 95th percentile bandwidth options.

Shared bandwidth sets a maximum rate for data transfer from your server to the rest of the internet. This option is best if you are unsure what bandwith you will need and is the lowest bandwidth option available.

Dedicated bandwidth guarantees you set amount bandwith. In this case both the minimum and maximum amount of bandwidth avaiable for your servers is the same and is always available. The cost of dedicated bandwidth is much higher than the cost of shared bandwidth.

95th Percentile bandwidth is an unlimited shared connection with special billing terms. Over the course of a month we monitor your bandwidth usage at 5 minute intervals. At the end of the month we remove the highest 5% of your bandwidth intervals and then bill you at a fixed rate for the new maximum amount of bandwith you used. This option is great if you need to handle bursts of data but do not require more than a couple of hours of high throughput per week.

IP Addresses
IP addresses are required if you want your webservers to be available on the internet. All Rackster colocation costs include two IP addresses for your servers. At this time Rackster hosting only offers IPv4 addresses (aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd).

Power Plugs
Number of 15 Amp plugs required for you server colocation. If you have other power requirements please indicate this in the "Other Requests" box at the bottom of this form.

Consecutive Space
Do you require that all server space to be in one contiguous block of rack space. This allows you to have all of your gear at the same location in our colocation facilities.

Racks
How much rack are you planning to use. Quote rack space to the nearest half of rack.

Rack Owner
Rackster hosting has both open and secure racks available to colocation clients. You can also arrange to relocate your own server racks.

Rack Type
If you want to use Rackster racks for your colocation, do you need them to be secured. Secure racks have both lockable rear and front access doors. All power and network cableing is internal to the rack so all connections are secure.

Power Requirements per Rack
We have the capability of proving powerbars for your rack. We offer 15, 20, and 30 amp powerbars each with 15 sockets. Depending on your needs we can provide 1 or 2 powerbars per rack.

Power Consumption (kWh)
Estimate the total amount of power you will require per month for all equipment. We will use this amound to better quote power costs as a separate quantity on your quote.
