Established August 2005, Rackster Hosting is a privately owned Hosting Service Provider. Rackster Hosting provides a rock solid platform to host Client Applications along with a full range of Business-class Information Technology services.
Rackster Hosting provides wholesale server rentals to application service providers, eBusiness, and resellers.
Our fully equiped state-of-the-art Data Center came online in July 2006 with expansion capacity of appoximately 15,000 servers.

About Our Data Center
Here at Rackster we strive to build and maintain the data center that we would trust with our own equipment and data.
Network Control Center
Rackster's Network Control Center (NCC) is staffed by expert technicians ensuring maximum reliability and performance. From our NCC, technicians can detect and resolve any networking issues on our multi-homed fiber network enabling Rackster to be in a proactive rather than reactive mode. The NCC is the Heart & Soul of Rackster we do not allow access to the NCC for security reasons. NCC staff only deal with current Rackster clients. In order to maintain the Best Level of Customer Service NCC staff respond so fast that most clients never even know that an issue was discovered and resolved. Customer Satisfaction is our goal
Core Switching & Routing
At the heart of Rackster.s data center is Cisco. At Rackster we do not consider dual power or even dual routers enough for the job. Rackster has TRIPLE the amount of Cisco equipment needed deployed in an Always On Mode, in the event of any major failure. Just knowing this, allows our great customers to sleep nights.
Redundant Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)
In the event of a main power failure, Liebert NPower UPS's provide (S+S) redundancy providing ample time for standby generators to come online. With (S+S) redundancy you can rest assured that nothing short of a catastrophic complete system-wide failure will knock your server offline.
Security
All access to the Rackster data center is strictly controlled by multi-layered electronic security and onsite personnel. Motion and breach alarms are installed along with video surveillance.
Fire Pervention
Our Facility uniquely has no water sprinkler systems or plumbing installed above or in the data Center. A dedicated Fire monitoring and Alarm system automatically alerts to smoke or flame detection and notifies staff and fire officials to the location. This system is capable of triggering a FM200 fire suppression system flooding the effected room with a non destructive suppressant gas, unlike Halon and water sprinkler systems no damage to personnel or hardware will occur, allowing for minimal to no down time in the effect of a incident.
Standby Diesel Generators
Rackster has a dedicated 1 MW power feed, supplied by Fortis, ensuring ample power to our data center. In addition, Cummins Power dedicated diesel generators tested weekly can provide emergency power in the event of main power interruption. Unlike many data centers located in shared facilities, our diesel generators are not a shared resource. Like the rest of our data center infrastructure, there is more generator capacity than actually needed in the event of a main power failure.
Heating And Cooling Systems
Rackster data center atmosphere is precisely controlled by Liebert built A/C systems specifically designed to meet mission-critical cooling requirements. Liebert Deluxe System/3 and the XD Series chillers precisely control temperature, humidity, airflow and quality.
Racks
Rackster uses custom made racks designed to maximize efficiency and cooling around servers. All servers within our racks connect directly to Internet Fiber or Copper medium. Each Rack standard has two 3000 Watt monitored and remote resetable Power Distribution bars.
Redundant Fiber Connectivity
Multiple fiber optic capacities provide redundancy against catastrophic connection failure.
